Supporting Youth Wrestling

Last Saturday, the Kopp Crew spent the day supporting Scarlet Wrestling at the Scarlet Open...a youth wrestling tournament. Wrestlers from around the area, Kindergarten to 6th Graders, descended on Mankato West High School to show off what they've been learning in their wrestling programs.

Lil' TK worked the event, which is a fundraiser for the West Wrestling Program. Kels ended up helping with score-keeping as well. Big TK and Ang worked the concession stand for a couple hours after watching their Godson, Lil' Bapper, wrestle for the first time ever.

Lil' Bapper is in Kindergarten and just started wrestling. He looks up to Lil' TK and was so excited to follow him into the sport. Here are a few pics from the event. Ang took the one of Lil' TK and Lil' Bapper. Lil' Bapper's mom took the rest. For more, visit: www.kpixfoto.com

Youth In Government

Kels participated in the YMCA's Youth In Government program for the first time this year. Big TK has been an adviser for 15 years and was a participant in the program himself all through high school.

No jeans or slippers allowed for this program, Kels needed to get some business attire and a fancy dress for the big dance Saturday night. It was a long weekend (Thursday through Sunday) but the 1400 YIG kids got to take over the state capitol and learn all about the judicial and legislative sections of government. Kels authored a bill and had it signed. She also was part of defense team in the courts that won their case. Big TK and Ang are so proud of her for taking this on as she is not one to do something that requires her to speak in front of large groups. But she did it. And she was awesome.
